Senior Buyer

Ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering/science or Commercial discipline with a minimum of 9 years experience in the purchasing of engineering materials, equipment and spare parts of which at least 5 years should have been in the oil & gas industry. The selected candidate will perform various duties related to the procurement of critical Engineering and Operations materials, equipment and spare parts in a cost effective and ethical manner considering price, service, quality, inventory positions, operations requirements in accordance with the company procedures. Initiate lead role in vendor visits, interdepartmental meetings, co-ordinate with user/vendor, inspection, finance and legal departments. He will also advice and provide work direction to Buyers, Junior Buyers and Procurement Clerks. He will be accountable and be able to deliver commitments, establish priorities and develop critical tasks, engender trust, create free flow of information, practice creativity, innovation and continuous improvement. It is essential that he be computer literate with a general understanding of purchasing computer systems. Applicants with knowledge of SAP will be at an advantage.
